Check the wikiHow to know how to enable and disable desktop icons in Mac OS X El Capitan.
I found a solution for this.
I think you were viewing the desktop programmatically, which gives a different value to the window creation offset in one place or another.
You need to adjust your code to that (offset = 0):
SetWindowPos(nullptr, nullptr, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE|SWP_NOSIZE|SWP_NOOWNERZORDER);
Alternatively you could just use this approach, which works like a charm.
I don’t have a definitive answer of why the WinAPI appears to throw an exception here, but I believe it is because the screen is blank. If you are not, then the old window position still applies.
Try setting the window to visible before you try to resize, and give it some time to fill in.
SetWindowPos(hwnd, nullptr, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE|SWP_NOSIZE|SWP_NOOWNERZORDER);
// Do your stuff

Fruitville is a 2003 American drama film directed by Kim Kersky and produced by Scott Rudin and Michael Wilson. The screenplay by Edward Caudel was based on the novel by Jim Anderson. Fruitville focuses on the lives of two people: Jane, a high school teacher who takes in a young black girl in the 1960s named Annette. The relationship between Jane and Annette is a complex one, and can best be described as that of a mother and daughter, a neighbor and a friend, and a girl and teacher. In the novel, the relationship is of a teacher and her student, but it is not the same in the film. In one scene where Annette is admonished by Jane, we see her crying in anger and frustration. There are many more examples. In the film, with all the depth and nuance of life, things happen so quickly that the story itself appears to be in a blur.
Part of the film is very dark, one scene that stands out is the one where Annette dies. In the novel, there are several similar scenes that also have great emotional impact.
And I think a lot of other reviewers are missing the point. The movie is a portrayal of what life in 1950s America was like. It is not a race movie.
The movie was filmed in Flushing, Queens, because of the ethnic characters. It was filmed during the summers, so the weather was ok. It was also shot
